In conjunction with recent news that the Consumer Rights Bill is well on its way to Royal Assent by the end of March, it’s time to officially announce that this year’s National Consumer Week (NCW) will focus on what will become the Consumer Rights Act.
As always, TSI worked with its lead officers and other trading standards professionals to determine which topic would be of most value to businesses, consumers and the community during NCW 2015. Although a variety of suggestions were put forth in a survey sent earlier this year, the clear winner for 2015 NCW is consumer rights.
The Consumer Rights Bill is an extensive piece of legislation that affects trading standards officers, business and consumers. TSI is working with the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), Citizens Advice and other partners to determine how to best communicate this complicated legislation. The campaign will endeavor to educate both consumers and businesses about their rights. TSI will lead on business education.
Our business education portal, Business Companion, is a great, easy-to-understand resource for business owners looking to understand legislation affecting their industry. For more information on Business Companion, click here.
NCW 2015 details will be updated as they are available on this portion of the TSI website.
